How copy returns work

A trader’s copy return is what you would have made by copying each of their buys: buying right after them, and selling a set time later.

For every buy a trader makes, fomocopy simulates a $100 copy:

  1. Bought late, like a real copier. The copy buys as the trader’s block (on Solana, their slot) closes, in the same pool, at their price or worse.
  2. Fees and price impact included. Pool fees and the price move a $100 buy causes are taken out.
  3. Sold after a set time. The copy is sold after each of eight times, and each gives its own return.
  4. Capped. A single trade counts at most +3,000%, so one lucky coin can’t carry a ranking.

The return at a selling time is the average over all of the trader’s copies. The median is the middle one, and win is the share of copies that made money.

Shown as Means
100ms / 200ms (Robinhood Chain), 1 slot / 2 slots (Solana), 1 block / 2 blocks (several chains) Sold one or two blocks after the buy: almost no time to react
1m, 5m Sold one or five minutes later
1h, 4h, 12h, 48h Sold hours later

The selling time is a choice you make: on the Rank page it’s Sold after. A trader can be worth copying for a 5-minute flip and terrible to hold for a day.

  • Ranked: at least 10 buys of $10 or more, in 3 or more coins, over the board’s period (7 or 30 days).
  • Most copyable board: by default, 20 or more buys in 5 or more coins. On Rank you can ask for more buys.
  • Score: a trader’s 1-minute copy return as a percentile among their chain’s ranked traders, from 0 to 100. Live trades show it next to each trade.

Boards are rebuilt every 3 hours.
